Are SUMTHIN blades compatible with Heiniger Xtra and Evo shearing machines?
Yes. Our MIM powder metallurgy shearing combs and cutters are direct drop-in replacements for the Heiniger Xtra and Heiniger Evo. They use the same standard shearing head geometry — no modifications needed. Simply remove the original comb or cutter and clip in the SUMTHIN replacement.
What is MIM powder metallurgy and why is it better for shearing blades?
MIM (Metal Injection Molding) is an advanced manufacturing process that produces blades with superior density, uniform hardness (HRC 60-62), and exceptional edge retention compared to traditional stamped or cast blades. SUMTHIN operates its own in-house MIM facility — one of very few blade manufacturers worldwide with this capability. Do SUMTHIN A5 blades fit the Heiniger Saphir?
Yes. The Heiniger Saphir is a cordless clipper that uses the universal A5 detachable blade system. All SUMTHIN A5 blades (#3F through #40) snap on directly — same mounting, same cutting performance, at a fraction of the retail price. The #10 blade (1.5mm cut) is the most popular size for the Saphir.
Can I get private label shearing blades with my own branding?
Absolutely. We offer full private label services for shearing combs, cutters, and A5 blades — custom logo engraving, branded packaging, and custom blade specifications. MOQ: 1,000 pieces. Many European and Australian agricultural supply brands already sell our blades under their own labels.
